Approaches to Acting 3 - A project report
An in-depth report in to using different practitioners techniques to make a performance.
We wanted our audience to identify with our characters and therefore chose the Konstantin Stanislavski system for its clear, methodical and systematic approach. However, so as not to lose sight of Beckett’s intentions, we chose to interrupt these naturalistic moments, by breaking the fourth wall and entering the world of the audience. Michael Chekhov’s techniques for psychological gesture were used in an abstract manor to further underpin the objectives of Beckett and to highlight which dominating emotion compelled each character.
