This assignment will cover the nutritional requirements to maintain a balanced diet within various animals. A balanced diet is species specific and maintains an equilibrium for optimum health, it takes into consideration balanced amounts of nutrients and energy. Various foods will be analysed to determine the nutrient content (protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals, water and fibre), the digestibility (the percentage of food which is absorbed into the body) and the palatability (the taste, texture and the smell of the food) and the suitability of the foods will be compared.
